Jaewon Lee

Jaewon’s early photographs began with street photography, but his visual interest gradually shifted towards the nuances of daily life and 'light' itself. He finds solace in projecting fleeting emotions that come and go in his mind onto ordinary subjects visible in everyday life. While his commercial works display technical finesse and craft, his personal projects immerse subjectively into the subjects, sharing empathy, while also observing nature and objects objectively and contemplatively. He carefully observes and pays attention even to the closest aspects of everyday life and nature. The play of shadows and contrasts, hues, mundane subjects, and capturing moments beautifully illuminated by light are characteristic of his work.
