Suzanne Kearney is a contemporary visual artist and Celtic shamanic practitioner from and based in Galway, Ireland. She studied Fine Art at The National College of Art and Design in Dublin and graduated in 2019.
Nature greatly inspires Suzanne’s art as she deeply reveres it. She connects with the energy of ancient Irish figurative stone carvings, sacred sites, native Irish trees and animals while painting.
Activist themes are often evident in Suzanne’s paintings and she is currently looking at gender in the art world. Her painting, ‘Presidents of The RSA’ outlines the sex of each of the presidents of the Royal Scottish Academy since its establishment in 1826 to the present day.
Playful, stylised figures are seen in Suzanne’s paintings and these are inspired by contemporary painters such as Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
