The artist - This oil study is part of an ongoing project inspired by the day-to-day life of two sisters who live in the croft where they were born on the Isle of Skye. In this painting, I focus on the juxtaposition between interior and exterior spaces, highlighting the solidity of the window frame in comparison to the transparency of the window pane. Windows have been a recurring motif in my work, and I enjoy the 'ready-made' compositional frame they provide.

This time, I have observed from a dark outdoors, blurring the boundary between private and public.
