One hundred times - enough

One hundred times - stop

One hundred times - we are tired

Ceramic circles attached with magnets.

In many cultures, when something needs emphasis, you would say “I told you 100 times”. This is the sentiment I am trying to convey, in my quiet way, on the wall… small spots of stop enough we are tired. Words all Palestinians have been saying for the past 214 days, and 76 years. Each word is represented 100 times. These are made of terracotta, printed from a photopolymer plate, with my own handwriting. Terracotta is the clay found in Palestine, and in particular, found in Gaza. I could not source Gaza clay, so this is the closest I can find. They are solid, yet fragile, they can be broken, yet they will last for many lifetimes, fired terracotta can last forever.

It never gets old – Coptic church – AlQuds –

Photoetching

I have visited this section of the Holy Sepulchre Church, in Alquds, Jerusalem for decades. It’s a peaceful quiet part of the Christian Quarter. Though the bustling streets are just beyond the walls, it is a quiet spot, full of trees and birds and a place for contemplation. The Back of the main church, it hosts the poorest and oldest part of Orthodox Christianity.

A grotto for a saint to hide in: Kufur Aqab – AlQuds –

Photoetching

A small village on the outskirts of Alquds Jerusalem. A saint or holy spirit (a Willie) used to appear at the spring for many centuries. This saint has been missing since the late 70’s early 80’s. it is believed he/she may be waiting for change. The image is an old house, awaiting renovation, but there are difficulties in obtaining permission from the Israeli Authorities to start the renovations.
